Abstract

A toner container for use with an image forming apparatus is provided with a toner accommodating portion in which toner is accommodated; a base portion including a receiving opening for receiving the toner accommodated in the toner accommodating portion, a discharge opening for permitting discharge of the toner, received through the receiving opening, to an outside of the toner container, and a passage which is a passage extending from the receiving opening to the discharge opening and which is for permitting passing of the toner; and a shutter constituted so as to be rotatable about a rotational axis relative to the base between an open position where the discharge opening is exposed to the outside and a closed position where the shutter covers the discharge opening, wherein the passage extends in a direction in which the passage is inclined relative to the rotational axis so that the receiving opening is in a position where the receiving opening crosses the rotational axis and so that the discharge opening is in a position where the discharge opening does not cross the rotational axis.

A toner container for accommodating toner, the toner container being mountable to and dismountable form a main assembly toner accommodating portion of an image forming apparatus, the toner container comprising:

a pouch configured to accommodate the toner therein and provided with an opening at an end portion with respect to a first direction;
and
a base attached to the end portion of the pouch and provided with a supplying opening communicating with the opening, the supplying opening being configured to permit supply of the toner to the main assembly toner accommodating portion,
wherein, when a direction perpendicular to the first direction is defined as a second direction and a direction perpendicular to both the first direction and the second direction is defined as a third direction, the base includes a supporting portion configured to support the pouch, at one side of the end portion with respect to the second direction of the pouch, by sandwiching the outside portions of the pouch in the third direction, and
wherein, as seen in the third direction, a central portion of the pouch with respect to the second direction is exposed to outside of the toner container.
