Anti-oscar antibody for preventing or treating osteoarthritis

An isolated antibody binding to an osteoclast-associated Ig-like receptor (OSCAR) protein or a fragment thereof,

• wherein the antibody or a fragment thereof comprising a heavy chain variable domain and a light chain variable domain is at least one selected from the group consisting of:
• 1) an isolated anti-OSCAR antibody or a fragment thereof comprising a heavy chain variable domain consisting of SEQ ID NO:
• 6 and a light chain variable domain consisting of SEQ ID NO:
• 7;
• 2) an isolated anti-OSCAR antibody or a fragment thereof comprising a heavy chain variable domain consisting of SEQ ID NO:
• 14 and a light chain variable domain consisting of SEQ ID NO:
• 15;
• and
• 3) an isolated anti-OSCAR antibody or a fragment thereof comprising a heavy chain variable domain consisting of SEQ ID NO:
• 22 and a light chain variable domain consisting of SEQ ID NO:
• 23.

A method of screening an osteoclast-associated Ig-like receptor (OSCAR) protein inhibitor, the method comprising:

• (a) culturing isolated chondrocytes and treating the cultured chondrocytes with an OSCAR protein inhibitor candidate substance;
• (b) treating the cultured chondrocytes with collagen;
• and
• (c) measuring an expression level of an osteoarthritis marker in the chondrocytes.
