Abstract
One aspect of the present disclosure provides a boron nitride powder containing agglomerated particles formed by agglomeration of primary particles of hexagonal boron nitride, in which a degree of purity is 98.5% by mass or more, and a number of particles containing carbon is 10 or less per 10 g of the boron nitride powder.

A boron nitride powder comprising
- agglomerated particles formed by agglomeration of primary particles of hexagonal boron nitride,
- wherein a degree of purity is 98.5% by mass or more, and
- a number of particles containing carbon is 10 or less per 10 g of the boron nitride powder.
A production method of a boron nitride powder, the method comprising heat-treating a raw material powder at a temperature of 500° C. or higher in an atmosphere in which an oxygen proportion is 15% by volume or more, the raw material powder containing agglomerated particles that are formed by agglomeration of primary particles and containing hexagonal boron nitride in which a degree of purity is 98.0% by mass or more.
