Abstract
A system may include a vehicle controller, comprising: a hardware platform, comprising a processor and a memory; and instructions encoded within the memory to: provide an autonomous vehicle control module with at least L4 vehicle control capability; select a semi-autonomous operating mode that uses a subset of the L4 vehicle control capability; and operate a vehicle in the semi-autonomous operating mode.
Claims20
A vehicle controller for a vehicle, comprising:
- a hardware platform, comprising a processor and a memory;
- and
- instructions encoded within the memory to:
- provide an autonomous vehicle control module with at least L4 vehicle control capability;
- select a semi-autonomous operating mode that uses a subset of the L4 vehicle control capability;
- and
- operate the vehicle in the semi-autonomous operating mode.
A method of providing computer-assisted control of a vehicle, comprising:
- selecting a semi-autonomous operating mode of a vehicle controller with a full autonomous operation capability, wherein the semi-autonomous operating mode comprises a subset of the full autonomous operation capability;
- identifying an operator of the vehicle, and loading an operator profile for the operator;
- and
- operating the vehicle according to the semi-autonomous operating mode and the operator profile.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media having stored thereon executable instructions to:
- provide a semi-autonomous vehicle operation module being a subset of an L4 or greater autonomous control software, including a vehicle behavior analysis module;
- apply the vehicle behavior analysis module to an operator of a vehicle to create an operator profile;
- and
- semi-autonomously provide L1, L2, or L3 control of the vehicle according to the semi-autonomous vehicle operation module and the operator profile.
