Abstract
Described herein is a safety system that works collectively with an automated fluid drain control apparatus and systems and clinical experts to establish protocols and methods for given patient populations to ensure that the drainage of fluid from patients is both safe and effective. It further enables the transportation of drain orders from systems external to the drain system and returns to them the drainage data on a periodic basis for inclusion into the patient chart.
Claims25
A system for fluid drain control, the system comprising a drain controller and a plurality of drain cassettes:
- wherein the plurality of drain cassettes are single-use drain cassettes, and where the plurality of single-use drain cassettes comprise at least two planes.
A system for fluid drain control, the system comprising a drain controller and a plurality of drainage collection bags;
- wherein the drainage collection bags comprise at least 250 mL of fluid storage, at least one bag connection fitting, and a plurality of bag-retention-supports,
A system for fluid drain control, the system comprising a drain controller which comprises a plurality of drainage collection bag mounts, a plurality of drainage collection bags, and a plurality of drain cassettes;
- wherein each of the plurality of drain cassettes may be securely and reversibly affixed to and removed from any of the plurality of drain cassette mounts;
- and wherein each of the plurality of drain cassette mounts further comprises a cassette identification reader, a pressure transducer interface, a valve actuator, a lever, a spectral analysis sensor, a fluid level sensor, and a valve actuator;
- and wherein each of the plurality of drainage collection bag mounts further comprises a collection bag identification reader, and a plurality of retention mechanisms and attached load cells.
