Abstract
A nicotine tablet that includes a solid solution of soluble fiber and one or more sugar alcohols, the solid solution having a glass transition temperature of less than 40° C., and nicotine or a derivative thereof dispersed in the solid solution such that the nicotine or derivative thereof is released from the tablet when the tablet is chewed or dissolved within an oral cavity.

A chewable dissolvable nicotine tablet comprising:
- a solid solution including
- soluble fibers;
- sugar alcohols;
- and
- a first amount of nicotine;
- and
- a plurality of oil domains dispersed in the solid solution, at least one of the plurality of oil domains including a second amount of nicotine,
- the tablet including less than 0.5 weight percent of tobacco plant tissue by weight of the tablet, the tablet taking up to 1 hour to dissolve when placed in an adult consumer's oral cavity.
