Abstract
A wound dressing for wireless communication with a transceiver includes a radio-frequency antenna circuit disposed on a flexible substrate, and an electrochemical moisture sensor circuit disposed on a surface of the flexible substrate. An adhesive is provided to attach the wound dressing skin of a user. The electrochemical moisture sensor is arranged between the adhesive and the flexible substrate.

A wireless reader for communication with a wound dressing, the wireless reader comprising:
- an antenna circuit;
- a processor operably coupled to the antenna circuit;
- and
- a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the wireless reader to perform a set of operations, the set of operations comprising:
- providing power to the wound dressing via the antenna circuit;
- obtaining, via the antenna circuit and from the wound dressing, wound dressing data for a plurality of sensors of the wound dressing;
- and
- processing the obtained wound dressing data to determine a moisture content of the wound dressing.
A wireless reader for communication with a wound dressing, the wireless reader comprising:
- an antenna circuit;
- a processor operably coupled to the antenna circuit;
- and
- a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the wireless reader to perform a set of operations, the set of operations comprising:
- providing power to the wound dressing via the antenna circuit;
- obtaining, via the antenna circuit and from the wound dressing, wound dressing data for a plurality of sensors of the wound dressing;
- and
- transmitting, to a remote computing device, an indication of the wound dressing data.
A method for obtaining wound dressing data from a wound dressing by a wireless reader, the method comprising:
- energizing the wound dressing via an antenna circuit of the wireless reader;
- obtaining, via the antenna circuit and from the wound dressing, wound dressing data for a plurality of sensors of the wound dressing;
- and
- processing the obtained wound dressing data to determine a moisture content of the wound dressing.
