Abstract
A door assembly includes a door that turns between a fully-closed position and a fully-open position to open or close a door opening, and hinges that support a front edge portion of the door and are provided such that the trajectory of the center of gravity of the door when the door turns from the fully-closed position to the fully-open position is curved upwardly in an up-down direction and the highest point of the trajectory is positioned between both ends of the trajectory.
Claims4
A vehicle door assembly comprising:
- a door that turns between a fully-closed position and a fully-open position to open or close a door opening;
- and
- a hinge that supports a front or rear edge portion of the door and is provided such that a trajectory of a center of gravity of the door when the door turns from the fully-closed position to the fully-open position is curved upwardly in a vehicle up-down direction and a highest point of the trajectory is positioned between both ends of the trajectory.
A vehicle comprising:
- a pair of front wheels and a pair of rear wheels;
- a vehicle body having a pillar forming part of an edge portion of a door opening;
- and
- a door assembly provided at the door opening,
- wherein the door assembly includes
- a door that turns between a fully-closed position and a fully-open position to open or close the door opening, and
- a hinge that supports a front or rear edge portion of the door and is provided such that a trajectory of a center of gravity of the door when the door turns from the fully-closed position to the fully-open position is curved upwardly in a vehicle up-down direction and a highest point of the trajectory is positioned between both ends of the trajectory.
