Methods and Systems for Determining Recoil Dynamics and Firearm Motion During Gunshot Event

A device comprising:

• electronic memory;
• one or more motion sensors;
• and
• a processor or electronics configured to:
• receive, from the one or more motion sensors, electronic signals representative of motion of a firearm;
• detect a shot of the firearm;
• track, based at least in part on the electronic signals, the motion of the firearm before detecting the shot to generate tracking data;
• retrieve, from the electronic memory, a reference target direction based at least in part on a voice command;
• and
• based at least in part on the tracking data and the reference target direction, generating data, regarding the motion of the firearm, for a display of a user interface.

A method for measuring motion of a firearm, the method comprising:

• receiving from a motion sensor electronic signals representative of the motion of the firearm and the orientation of the firearm;
• receiving a voice command to indicate a reference target direction, wherein the reference target direction is the orientation of the firearm when the voice command is received;
• detecting a shot of the firearm;
• tracking, based at least in part on the electronic signals, the motion of the firearm before detecting the shot to generate tracking data;
• and
• based at least in part on the tracking data and the reference target direction, generating data, regarding the motion of the firearm, for a display of a user interface.
