Abstract
There is provided a rotor for use in an tangential internal batch mixer, the rotor comprising a main body configured to rotate about a rotor axis, a wing extending from the main body, and arranged helically about a portion of the main body, the wing comprising a wing tip surface, a first portion of the wing tip surface extending between a first edge and a second edge of the wing, wherein the first edge comprises a first helix angle and the second edge comprises a second helix angle, the first helix angle being different to the second helix angle.
Claims15
A rotor for use in a tangential internal batch mixer, the rotor comprising:
- a main body configured to rotate about a rotor axis,
- a wing extending from the main body, and arranged helically about a portion of the main body;
- the wing comprising a wing tip surface, a first portion of the wing tip surface extending between a first edge and a second edge of the wing;
- wherein the first edge comprises a first helix angle and the second edge comprises a second helix angle, the first helix angle being different to the second helix angle.
A tangential internal batch mixer for mixing materials, the mixer comprising:
- a mixing chamber for mixing the material;
- and
- first and second rotors configured to rotate in opposite directions, each rotor comprising:
- a main body configured to rotate about a rotor axis,
- a wing extending from the main body and arranged helically about a portion of the main body;
- the wing comprising a wing tip surface, a first portion of the wing tip surface extending between a first edge and a second edge of the wing;
- wherein the first edge comprises a first helix angle and the second edge comprises a second helix angle, the first helix angle being different to the second helix angle.
A computer program comprising computer executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to control an additive manufacturing apparatus to manufacture a rotor comprising:
- a main body configured to rotate about a rotor axis, a wing extending from the main body, and arranged helically about a portion of the main body;
- and
- the wing comprising a wing tip surface, a first portion of the wing tip surface extending between a first edge and a second edge of the wing;
- wherein the first edge comprises a first helix angle and the second edge comprises a second helix angle, the first helix angle being different to the second helix angle.
