Image-Based Kitchen Tracking System with Anticipatory Preparation Management

A method, comprising:

• obtaining, by a processing device, first image data indicative of a state of an area associated with food item preparation;
• determining, by the processing device, a first quantity of a first ingredient disposed within a first container based on the first image data;
• determining, by the processing device, a predicted replacement time for the first ingredient based on the first image data;
• determining, by the processing device, a preparation procedure associated with the first ingredient based on the first quantity and the predicted replacement time;
• and
• causing a device proximate the area associated with food item preparation to provide a user alert indicative of the preparation procedure.

A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device to perform operations comprising:

• obtaining first image data indicative of a state of an area associated with food item preparation;
• determining a first quantity of a first ingredient disposed within a first container based on the first image data;
• determining a predicted replacement time for the first ingredient based on the first image data;
• determining a preparation procedure associated with the first ingredient based on the first quantity and the predicted replacement time;
• and
• causing a device proximate the area associated with food item preparation to provide a user alert indicative of the preparation procedure.

A system, comprising memory and a processing device coupled to the memory, wherein the processing device is configured to:

• obtain first image data indicative of a state of an area associated with food item preparation;
• determine a first quantity of a first ingredient disposed within a first container based on the first image data;
• determine a predicted replacement time for the first ingredient based on the first image data;
• determine a preparation procedure associated with the first ingredient based on the first quantity and the predicted replacement time;
• and
• cause a device proximate the area associated with food item preparation to provide a user alert indicative of the preparation procedure.
