Abstract
Identity management in the present invention can include several operational steps such as identity verification by a third party, identity inquiries, and inquiry approval by the identity holder.
Claims13
A method of using a blockchain to provide identity verification of a user, comprising:
- (a) presenting identification documentation related to the user to a verifier party;
- (b) recording information from the identification documentation on the blockchain in an identity token authenticated by the verifier party;
- (c) accessing the identity token to provide identity verification of the user.
A method of verifying the identity of a user, comprising:
- (a) presenting documentation of identity to a verifier party, and recording on the blockchain an identity token authenticated by the verifier party, where the identity token contains information from or related to the documentation;
- (b) repeating step (a) one or more times, each time with different documentation, a different verifier party, or both, resulting in a plurality of identity tokens recorded on the blockchain;
- (c) accessing one or more of the plurality of identity tokens to verify one or more characteristics of the identity of the user for a subsequent operation.
