Abstract
Methods and systems are provided for a turbocharger. In one example, a method includes adjusting one or more of a wastegate position and a position of vanes with operation of a turbocharger to reach a desired turbocharger speed via a controller. The method further includes adjusting engine operating parameters to reach the desired turbocharger speed.

A system, comprising:
- a turbocharger comprising a wastegate and an electric motor, the turbocharger being couplable to an engine;
- and
- a controller with computer-readable instructions stored on non-transitory memory thereof that when executed cause the controller to:
- adjust an operational combination of the turbocharger and the wastegate to reach a determined operating parameter.

A method, comprising:
- adjusting one or both of a wastegate position and a position of vanes to reach a determined rotational speed of a turbocharger.
A system for a vehicle, comprising:
- a turbocharger couplable to an engine;
- an electric motor coupled to a shaft of the turbocharger;
- and
- a controller with computer-readable instructions stored on non-transitory memory thereof that when executed cause the controller to:
- adjust one or both of a wastegate position and a position of vanes in conjunction with an operation of the turbocharger to reach a determined speed of the turbocharger in response to one or more of:
- a track speed of the vehicle being less than a lower threshold value,
- the track speed being greater than an upper threshold,
- a loss of traction of wheels of the vehicle, and
- a rotational speed of the turbocharger exceeding a determined limit speed.
