Abstract
Methods and systems are provided for managing environmental conditions and energy usage associated with a site. One exemplary method of regulating an environment condition at a site involves a server receiving environmental measurement data from a monitoring system at the site via a network, determining an action for an electrical appliance at the site based at least in part on the environmental measurement data and one or more monitoring rules associated with the site, and providing an indication of the action to an actuator for the electrical appliance.
Claims20
A method of providing a service by a cloud-based system coupled to a network to manage a condition at a site, the method comprising:
- providing, by the cloud-based system to a client device over the network, an instance of an application including one or more graphical user interface elements for defining configuration information associated with the site;
- providing, by the cloud-based system to a device at the site over the network, communication configuration information based on the configuration information associated with the site to configure the device for subsequent operation in accordance with the communication configuration information;
- and
- thereafter receiving, by the cloud-based system, data from the device at the site over the network in accordance with the communication configuration information.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processing system of a cloud-based system coupled to a network, cause the processing system to:
- providing, to a client device over the network, an instance of an application including one or more graphical user interface elements for defining configuration information associated with a site;
- provide, to a device at the site over the network, communication configuration information based on the configuration information associated with the site to configure the device for subsequent operation in accordance with the communication configuration information;
- and
- thereafter receive data from the device at the site over the network in accordance with the communication configuration information.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processing system of a device coupled to a network, cause the processing system to:
- initiate communications with a service of a cloud-based system upon deployment at a site to receive communication configuration information from the cloud-based system over the network;
- automatically configure the device for subsequent operation in accordance with the communication configuration information;
- and
- thereafter periodically transmit data from the site to the cloud-based system over the network in accordance with the communication configuration information.
