Abstract
Systems and methods of restoring a lake including dredging, island creation, water treatment, real estate development, computer modeling of environmental conditions, wave height reduction, sediment removal and encapsulation, bathymetry contouring, littoral zone restoration, plant restoration, and/or fish restoration.
Claims20
A system to restore a body of water, comprising:
- one or more dredgers to remove sediment from a bed of the body of water to increase depth of the body of water;
- and
- one or more geotubes to receive and encapsulate nutrient loaded sediments removed from the bed of the body of water, wherein the one or more geotubes are to be arranged to form a border of a land mass within the body of water, wherein the one or more dredgers pump sediment to fill the geotubes, and
- wherein the one or more dredgers pump sediment to provide material to infill an area defined by the border formed by the geotubes to construct the landmass.

A system to restore a body of water, comprising:
- one or more dredgers to remove sediment from a bed of the body of water to increase depth of the body of water;
- and
- one or more geotubes to receive and encapsulate nutrient loaded sediments removed from the bed of the body of water, wherein the one or more geotubes are to be arranged to form a border of a peninsula extending into the body of water, wherein the one or more dredgers pump sediment to fill the geotubes, and
- wherein the one or more dredgers pump sediment to provide material to infill an area defined by the border formed by the geotubes to construct the peninsula.

A system to restore a body of water, comprising:
- one or more dredgers to remove sediment from a bed of the body of water to increase depth of the body of water;
- and
- one or more geotubes to receive and encapsulate nutrient loaded sediments removed from the bed of the body of water, wherein the one or more geotubes effectively sequester both the nutrient loaded sediments and the nutrients within the sediments to prevent the nutrients within the sediments from leaching out of the one or more geotubes, wherein the one or more geotubes are to be arranged to form a border of a shoreline extension of a shoreline of the body of water, wherein the one or more dredgers pump sediment to fill the geotubes, and
- wherein the one or more dredgers pump sediment to provide material to infill an area defined by the border formed by the geotubes to construct the shoreline extension.
