Abstract
A network element of a cable television (CATV) network, comprising one or more amplifier units for amplifying downstream signal transmission into one or more output channels; a temperature sensor configured to detect one or more of the following: ambient temperature of the network element, and/or one or more of components of the network element; a memory configured to store a predetermined correlation between the detected ambient temperature and a corresponding correction of a bias current for said one or more amplifier units; and a processing unit configured to control the bias current of said one or more amplifier units to be adjusted based on the predetermined correlation.
Claims11
A network element of a cable television (CATV) network, said network element comprising
- one or more amplifier units for amplifying downstream signal transmission into one or more output channels;
- a temperature sensor configured to detect one or more of the following:
- ambient temperature of the network element, one or more of components of the network element;
- a memory configured to store a predetermined correlation between the detected ambient temperature and a corresponding correction of a bias current for said one or more amplifier units;
- and
- a processing unit configured to control the bias current of said one or more amplifier units to be adjusted based on the predetermined correlation.
