Abstract
A manhole cover assembly for a sewer, the manhole cover assembly including a manhole cover having a top surface and a bottom surface. An opening extends through the manhole cover between the top surface and the bottom surface. The assembly further includes an extension pipe coaxially aligned with the opening of the manhole cover and extending from the top surface of the manhole cover, wherein the extension pipe is coupled to the manhole cover with a locking mechanism.

A manhole cover assembly for a sewer, the manhole cover assembly comprising:
- a manhole cover having a top surface and a bottom surface;
- an opening of the manhole cover extending through the manhole cover between the top surface and the bottom surface;
- and
- an extension pipe coaxially aligned with the opening of the manhole cover and extending from the top surface of the manhole cover, wherein the extension pipe is coupled to the manhole cover with a locking mechanism.

A mounting assembly for use with a manhole cover, the mounting assembly comprising:
- an extension pipe;
- a base member having an arcuate top surface and a mounting stem extending from a bottom surface of the base member, the mounting stem having a length and a diameter sized to be fit within and extend beyond a corresponding opening within the manhole cover, the base member including a passageway extending from the top surface through the entirety of the mounting stem and sized to receive the extension pipe therein;
- and
- a locking mechanism to secure the base member to the manhole cover.
