Abstract
The invention relates to a safe and efficient process for the solvent removal and recovery by distillation in a process for the preparation of ω-nitrooxy-C3-10alkane-1-ols. The process is safer to operators and allows to obtain advantageous yields on industrial scale.

A process for the removal and recovery of an inert solvent from a solution comprising the inert solvent and a α,ω-C3-10alkanediol mononitrate by distillation, said process comprising partial condensation and continuous back-feeding of fractions comprising mixtures of inert solvent and α,ω-C3-10 alkanediol mononitrate into said distillation.
