Abstract
A soil thickness/depth determining system and method may be used to predict soil depth/thickness.
Claims18
A soil thickness determining method at any location in a catchment, the method comprising:
- obtaining detecting and ranging data and a limited number of a measurement of a thickness of mobile regolith (TMR) for a location;
- and
- determining a soil thickness of the location based on the detecting and ranging data and the limited number of TMR measurements, wherein determining the soil thickness is determined by multiplying a slope of the TMR/curvature by the curvature and adding the average depth found in the catchment.
A soil thickness determining system, comprising:
- a computer system having a processor and a memory and a plurality of lines of instructions configured to:
- obtain detecting and ranging data and a limited number of a measurement of a thickness of mobile regolith (TMR) for a location;
- and
- determine a soil thickness of the location based on the detecting and ranging data and the limited number of TMR measurements, wherein determining the soil thickness is determined by multiplying a slope of the TMR/curvature by the curvature and adding the average depth found in the catchment
