Zone management and hybrid automatic repeat request for sidelink

A method comprising:

• determining, by a first wireless device, sidelink configurations for sidelink communications indicating:
• zone configurations for sidelink transmissions;
• and
• communication range thresholds each corresponding to a respective zone configuration of the zone configurations;
• and
• receiving, by the first wireless device from a second wireless device, sidelink control information, SCI, indicating:
• a zone, of a first zone configuration of the zone configurations, indicating a geographic location of the second wireless device;
• and
• a first communication range threshold, of the first zone configuration, indicating a communication range of the sidelink transmissions.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

• determine sidelink configurations for sidelink communications indicating:
• zone configurations for sidelink transmissions;
• and
• communication range thresholds each corresponding to a respective zone configuration of the zone configurations;
• and
• transmit, to one or more second wireless devices, sidelink control information, SCI, indicating:
• a zone, of a first zone configuration of the zone configurations, indicating a geographic location of the first wireless device;
• and
• a first communication range threshold, of the first zone configuration, indicating a communication range of the sidelink transmissions.
