Methods and apparatus for search space switching

Abstract

Methods and apparatus in a communication system for search space switching are disclosed. A method performed by a network node in a communication system that includes more than one search space group includes generating a downlink control information, DCI, message, and transmitting the DCI message on a downlink control channel, wherein the DCI message causes a user equipment, UE, to switch from monitoring a first search space group to monitoring a second search space group in response to successfully decoding the DCI message. A method performed by a UE in the communication system, wherein the UE is configured to monitor a first search space group, includes receiving a DCI message on a downlink control channel; and switching from monitoring the first search space group to monitoring a second search space group in response to successfully decoding the DCI message.
