Systems and methods for mitigating radio-frequency latency wireless devices

A system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• a machine-readable storage medium storing instructions that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations including:
• detecting, at a first time, light using an optical sensor;
• receiving, at a second time, a first data packet over a connection with a first wireless device;
• defining a first signal latency value based on the first time and the second time;
• receiving a media stream that includes a video component and an audio component;
• and
• modifying a presentation of the media stream by delaying the video component by a latency time interval, wherein the latency time interval is based on the first signal latency value.

A machine-readable storage medium storing instructions that when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations including:

• detecting, at a first time, light using an optical sensor;
• receiving, at a second time, a first data packet over a connection with a first wireless device;
• defining a first signal latency value based on the first time and the second time;
• receiving a media stream that includes a video component and an audio component;
• and
• modifying a presentation of the media stream by delaying the video component by a latency time interval, wherein the latency time interval is based on the first signal latency value.
