Abstract
A charger is provided. The charger includes a controller and an input/output module. The controller includes a memory storing a charging algorithm. The controller is configured to control a current flow to and from a battery according to the charging algorithm, collect information from the battery during charge and discharge cycles relative to the current flow, report the information to a server, and change the charging algorithm according to an optimized configuration. The input/output module is configured to connect the controller and the server and communicate the information.
Claims20
A charger comprising:
- a controller comprising a memory storing a charging algorithm, the controller being configured to:
- control a current flow to and from a battery according to the charging algorithm,
- collect information from the battery during charge and discharge cycles relative to the current flow,
- reporting the information to a server through an input/output module of the charger, and
- change the charging algorithm according to an optimized configuration;
- and
- the input/output module configured to connect the controller and the server and communicate the information.
A method implemented by a charger executing a charging algorithm stored on a memory of the charger, the method comprising:
- controlling, by a controller of the charger, a current flow to and from a battery according to the charging algorithm;
- collecting, by the controller, information from the battery during charge and discharge cycles relative to the current flow;
- reporting, by the controller through an input/output module of the charger, the information to a server;
- and
- changing, by the controller, the charging algorithm according to an optimized configuration.
