Abstract
Disclosed herein are method, system, and computer program product embodiments for performing the continuous tuning of received audio input from an earpiece, wherein the audio input is independently altered in the frequency domain for output to an earpiece worn by a user based on tuning profiles chosen by the user, or in combination with power conservation tuning profile auto-switching modes, including a time only and location only mode, switching tuning profiles based on data analyzed from various electronic sensors, for an optimal experience.
Claims14
A computer-implemented method for selectively tuning audio output to an earpiece worn by a user or an externally connected speaker, comprising:
- executing, by at least one processor, a display routine to display a graphical user interface to the user on a screen connected to the at least one processor, and further displaying by the at least one processor a menu comprising a plurality of tuning profiles for the user to select a tuning profile within the graphical user interface;
- obtaining input from the user, based on the user's interaction with the graphical user interface, said input comprising a chosen tuning profile and sensory input from the user, wherein the sensory input from the user comprises raw data which may be stored by the at least one processor in a local repository in a primary or secondary memory associated with said at least one processor;
- processing, by the at least one processor, an input audio signal from the earpiece, or an input audio signal from an external microphone;
- receiving the input signal and storing the input signal in the local repository, by the at least one processor;
- transforming the input audio signal from a time domain to a frequency domain using a Fourier transform by the at least one processor;
- altering the input signal in the frequency domain in a selective manner based on the obtained input from the user, by the at least one processor, wherein the selective altering of the audio signal further includes:
- determining a tuning profile out of a plurality of tuning profiles, either in an autonomous manner or based on the tuning profile manually chosen by the user in the user input;
- and
- based on the determined tuning profile, selectively amplifying the obtained input signal in the frequency domain according to the tuning profile for output to the earpiece or an externally connected speaker by the at least one processor;
- performing an inverse Fourier transform on the altered audio signal according to the determined tuning profile to obtain an altered audio signal to be output to the earpiece worn by the user or an externally connected speaker in the time domain, by the at least one processor;
- and
- transmitting the altered audio signal in the time domain to the earpiece worn by the user or an externally connected speaker by the at least one processor, wherein the earpiece has no electronic components present behind the ear.
A system, comprising:
- a memory, an earpiece worn by a user, a display screen;
- and
- at least one processor coupled to the memory and display screen configured to:
- execute a display routine to display a graphical user interface to the user on the display screen, and to further display a menu comprising a plurality of tuning profiles for the user to select a tuning profile within the graphical user interface;
- obtain input from the user, based on the user's interaction with the graphical user interface, said input comprising a chosen tuning profile and sensory input from the user, wherein the memory comprises primary memory or secondary memory or both, and wherein the sensory input from the user comprises raw data which may be stored in the primary or the secondary memory or both;
- process an input audio signal from the earpiece or an external microphone;
- receive the input signal and store the input signal in the local repository;
- transform the input audio signal from a time domain to a frequency domain using a Fourier transform;
- alter the input signal in the frequency domain in a selective manner based on the obtained input from the user wherein the selective altering of the audio signal further includes the processor being further configured to:
- determine a tuning profile out of a plurality of tuning profiles, either in an autonomous manner or based on the tuning profile manually chosen by the user in the user input;
- and
- based on the determined tuning profile, selectively amplify the obtained input signal in the frequency domain according to the tuning profile for output to the earpiece or an externally connected speaker;
- perform an inverse Fourier transform on the altered audio signal according to the determined tuning profile to obtain an altered audio signal to be output to the earpiece worn by the user or an externally connected speaker in the time domain;
- and
- transmit the altered audio signal in the time domain to the earpiece worn by the user or an externally connected speaker, wherein the earpiece has no electronic components present behind the ear.
