Reducing bandwidth requirements of virtual collaboration sessions

A computer system for reducing bandwidth requirements of a virtual collaboration session, the system comprising:

• one or more processors, one or more computer-readable memories, one or more computer-readable tangible storage media, and program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more tangible storage media for execution by at least one of the one or more processors via at least one of the one or more memories, wherein the computer system is capable of performing a method comprising:
• capturing session data from a virtual collaboration session, wherein the session data is selected from a group consisting of video data, audio data, text data and an image of a screen of a connected device;
• connecting to a live blog platform;
• transmitting a text transcription of the virtual collaboration session to the live blog platform, wherein the text transcription is generated by scanning the audio data of the virtual collaboration session using a speech-to-text algorithm;
• classifying a topic in the virtual collaboration session based on importance;
• and
• in response to the topic being classified as important, transmitting a multimedia file related to the topic to the live blog platform, wherein the multimedia file is extracted from the session data.

A computer program product for reducing bandwidth requirements of a virtual collaboration session, the computer program product comprising:

• a computer readable storage device having program instructions embodied therewith, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to perform a method comprising:
• capturing session data from a virtual collaboration session, wherein the session data is selected from a group consisting of video data, audio data, text data and an image of a screen of a connected device;
• connecting to a live blog platform;
• transmitting a text transcription of the virtual collaboration session to the live blog platform, wherein the text transcription is generated by scanning the audio data of the virtual collaboration session using a speech-to-text algorithm;
• classifying a topic in the virtual collaboration session based on importance;
• and
• in response to the topic being classified as important, transmitting a multimedia file related to the topic to the live blog platform, wherein the multimedia file is extracted from the session data.
