Abstract
Systems and methods for determining whether to enable color blind accessibility settings within the course of a user interactive narrative are described herein. Virtual color blindness indication objects containing colors that are visibly distinguishable within a single dichromatic visual spectrum can be utilized in objectives to determine a user's dichromatic visual deficiency type.

A computer-implemented method for adjusting color blind accessibility settings, comprising:
- prompting, during a gameplay session of a video game application, user interaction of a user with a plurality of color blindness indication objects (CBIOs) rendered at designated locations among a virtual interactive environment, the user interaction including interaction by the user, via a corresponding computing device, with the video game application;
- monitoring the user interaction of the user with the CBIOs;
- enabling a color blind accessibility setting of a visual deficiency type based in part on the user interactions;
- determining if the user interactions meets an adjustment threshold;
- calculating, in response to the adjustment threshold being met, a second color generation ratio with which to render additional CBIOs, the second color generation ratio being different than a first color generation ratio used to render the CBIOs;
- rendering the additional CBIOs at locations of the virtual interactive environment based in part on the second color generation ratio;
- prompting user interaction with the additional CBIOs;
- monitoring the user interaction with the additional CBIOs;
- and
- adjusting the color blind accessibility setting based at least in part on the user interaction with the additional CBIOs.

A system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more memory devices communicatively coupled to the one or more processors, the one or more memory devices storing computer-executable instructions that, during runtime execution by the one or more processors, causes at least one of the one or more processors to:
- prompt, during a gameplay session of a video game application, user interaction of a user with a plurality of color blindness indication objects (CBIOs) rendered at designated locations among a virtual interactive environment, the user interaction including interaction by the user, via a corresponding computing device, with the video game application;
- monitor the user interaction of the user with the CBIOs;
- enable a color blind accessibility setting of a visual deficiency type based in part on the user interactions;
- determine if the user interactions meets an adjustment threshold;
- calculate, in response to the adjustment threshold being met, a second color generation ratio with which to render additional CBIOs, the second color generation ratio being different than a first color generation ratio used to render the CBIOs;
- render the additional CBIOs at locations of the virtual interactive environment based in part on the second color generation ratio;
- prompt user interaction with the additional CBIOs;
- monitor the user interaction with the additional CBIOs;
- and
- adjust the color blind accessibility setting based at least in part on the user interaction with the additional CBIOs.
