Materials, including nonwoven materials, and methods thereof

A method, comprising:

• exposing a nonwoven material comprising fibers to polyethylene oxide;
• and
• bonding the polyethylene oxide to the nonwoven material and to itself, wherein the polyethylene oxide has an average molecular weight (Mv) of between 5,000,000 and 12,000,000.

An article, comprising:

• a nonwoven material comprising fibers and polyethylene oxide bonded to at least some of the fibers and to itself, the polyethylene oxide having an average molecular weight (Mv) of between 5,000,000 and 12,000,000,
• wherein the nonwoven material comprising the fibers and the polyethylene oxide has an air permeability of at least 15 m3/(min m2) at a pressure differential of 124 Pa and 25° C.

An article, comprising:

• a material comprising fibers and polyethylene oxide bonded to at least some of the fibers and to itself, the polyethylene oxide having an average molecular weight (Mv) of between 5,000,000 and 12,000,000,
• wherein the material comprising the fibers and the polyethylene oxide has an air permeability of at least 5 ft3/min/ft2 at a pressure differential of 0.5 inches of water and 77° F.

A method, comprising:

• exposing a material comprising fibers to polyethylene oxide;
• and
• bonding the polyethylene oxide to the material and to itself, wherein the polyethylene oxide has an average molecular weight (Mv) of between 5,000,000 and 12,000,000.

An article, comprising:

• a material comprising fibers and polyethylene oxide bonded to at least some of the fibers and to itself, the polyethylene oxide having an average molecular weight (Mv) of between 5,000,000 and 12,000,000,
• wherein the material comprising the fibers and the polyethylene oxide has an air permeability of at least 15 m3/(min m2) at a pressure differential of 124 Pa and 25° C.

An article, comprising:

• a material comprising fibers and polyethylene oxide bonded to at least some of the fibers and to itself, the polyethylene oxide having an average molecular weight (Mv) of between 5,000,000 and 12,000,000, wherein the material is water-repellent as determined using ASTM D2842.
