A dissimilar metal-doped cerium oxide comprising:
- cerium oxide and a dissimilar metal other than the cerium oxide,
- wherein the dissimilar metal-doped cerium oxide satisfies a relationship of the following formula (1):
- 0.8≤|(D90)−(D10)|/D50≤2.0 (1)
- where, in the formula (1), D10, D50, and D90 respectively represent the following:
- D10:
- particle diameter at which cumulative volume fraction is 10%
- D50:
- particle diameter at which cumulative volume fraction is 50%
- D90:
- particle diameter at which cumulative volume fraction is 90%.
A dissimilar metal-doped cerium oxide comprising:
- cerium oxide and a dissimilar metal other than the cerium oxide,
- wherein a bulk specific gravity is 0.51 g/cc or more and 1.50 g/cc or less.
A method for producing a dissimilar metal-doped cerium oxide comprising:
- (A) preparing an aqueous preparation by blending a raw material, (B) drying the aqueous preparation, and (C) calcining a dried product of the aqueous preparation,
- wherein the raw material prepared in the step (A) satisfies a relationship of the following formula (2):
- 0.65≤(a+b)/c≤8.0 (2)
- where, in the formula (2), a to c represent the following:
- a:
- amount of substance of cerium (Ce) in raw material (mol)
- b:
- amount of substance of dissimilar metal other than cerium in raw material (mol)
- c:
- amount of substance of ammonium ion in a moisture-proof agent (mol).
