Abstract
The housing includes a protecting portion for protecting the terminal. The protecting portion projects in the first direction from the facing surface. A projection amount of the protecting portion is larger than that of the terminal. The protecting member includes a first through hole for insertion of the terminal and a second through hole for insertion of the protecting portion. The protecting member is displaced between a first position between a tip of the protecting portion and a tip of the terminal in the first direction and a second position between the tip of the terminal and the facing surface in the first direction.

A connector, comprising:
- a housing having a facing surface facing a mating connector when the connector is assembled with the mating connector;
- a terminal held in the housing, the terminal projecting in a first direction from the facing surface;
- and
- a protecting member held in the housing, the protecting member moving in the first direction and a second direction opposite to the first direction in the housing,
- wherein:
- the housing includes a protecting portion for protecting the terminal,
- the protecting portion projects in the first direction from the facing surface,
- a projection amount of the protecting portion is larger than that of the terminal,
- the protecting member includes a first through hole for insertion of the terminal and a second through hole for insertion of the protecting portion, and
- the protecting member is displaced between a first position between a tip of the protecting portion and a tip of the terminal in the first direction and a second position between the tip of the terminal and the facing surface in the first direction.
