Abstract
Methods and apparatus are provided for a UE to determine a cell global identity (CGI) of a target cell.
Claims16
A method for a user equipment (UE) to identify a cell global identity (CGI) of a target cell, comprising:
- determining that a synchronization signal block (SSB) Measurement Timing Configuration (SMTC) periodicity of the target cell has been configured by a serving cell;
- decoding a master information block (MIB), wherein the MIB includes multiplexing pattern information;
- based on decoding the MIB, identifying whether an SSB and control resource set (CORESET) multiplexing pattern is a pattern 1, a pattern 2 or a pattern 3;
- based on identifying that the SSB and CORESET multiplexing pattern is the pattern 2 or the pattern 3, reading a system information block type 1 (SIB1) using the SMTC periodicity of the target cell;
- and
- obtaining the CGI of the target cell in the SIB1.

- based on identifying that the SSB and CORESET multiplexing pattern is the pattern 2 or the pattern 3, reading a system information block type 1 (SIB1) using the MIB repetition periodicity;
- and
- obtaining the CGI of the target cell in the SIB1.

- decoding a master information block (MIB), wherein the MIB includes multiplexing pattern information;
- based on decoding the MIB, identifying whether an SSB and control resource set (CORESET) multiplexing pattern is a pattern 1, a pattern 2 or a pattern 3;
- based on identifying that the SSB and CORESET multiplexing pattern is the pattern 2 or the pattern 3, reading a system information block type 1 (SIB1) using a 20 millisecond repetition transmission period;
- and
- obtaining the CGI of the target cell in the SIB1.
