An information processing system comprising:
- an obtaining unit configured to obtain read image data generated by reading an image printed on a sheet by a printing apparatus;
- and
- a controller configured to determine an abnormality of the printing apparatus by determining, based on the read image data obtained by the obtaining unit, a type of a stain that appears in the read image data from among a plurality of stain types.
A method by which a controller of an information processing apparatus determines an abnormality in a printing apparatus, the method comprising:
- obtaining read image data generated by reading an image printed on a sheet by the printing apparatus;
- and
- determining an abnormality of the printing apparatus by determining, based on the obtained read image data, a type of a stain that appears in the read image data from among a plurality of stain types.
An image forming apparatus comprising:
- an image forming device configured to form an image on a recording medium;
- a reading device configured to read the image formed on the recording medium and generate read image data;
- and
- processing circuitry configured to determine an abnormality of the image forming apparatus by determining, based on the read image data generated by the reading device, a type of a stain that appears in the read image data from among a plurality of stain types.
