High voltage battery bypass for electric vehicle fleet

An electric vehicle (EV) comprising:

• a battery;
• a plurality of sensors arranged at different locations on the EV;
• an onboard computer coupled to the plurality of sensors, the onboard computer programmed to process data received from the plurality of sensors and control autonomous driving of the EV based on the processed data;
• a power distribution module configured to receive power from a charging station, draw power from the battery in a discharging mode, distribute power from the charging station to the battery in a charging mode, and distribute power to the plurality of sensors;
• and
• a battery bypass module coupled to the battery and to the power distribution module, wherein the battery bypass module, when engaged in a charging bypass mode, causes power received from the charging station and distributed by the power distribution module to bypass the battery and to be distributed to at least a subset of the plurality of sensors.
