Abstract
A device including a plurality of antennas may sense or receive data related to a magnetic field. A strength of the magnetic field may be determined. Based on the strength of the magnetic field, a location or orientation of the device may be determined. The location of the device may be used to select an antenna from the plurality of antennas for transmitting data from the device or receiving data at the device. If the location of the device is associated with historical performance data, the historical performance data may be used to select an antenna from the plurality of antennas.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- sensing, at a device comprising a plurality of antennas, a magnetic field;
- determining a first strength of the magnetic field;
- determining, based on the first strength, a first location of the device;
- and
- selecting, based on historical performance data associated with the first location, a first antenna from the plurality of antennas for transmitting data from the device.
A method comprising:
- sensing, at a device comprising a plurality of antennas, a magnetic field;
- determining a first strength of the magnetic field;
- determining, based on the first strength, a first orientation of the device;
- and
- selecting, based on the first orientation, a first antenna from the plurality of antennas for transmitting data from the device.
A device comprising:
- a plurality of antennas;
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to:
- sense a magnetic field;
- determine a first strength of the magnetic field;
- determine, based on the first strength, a first location of the device;
- and
- select, based on the first location, a first antenna from the plurality of antennas for transmitting data from the device.
