Method and a system for performing a scan skip operation in a multi-function printer (mfp)

A system for performing an operation of skipping scanning in a multi-function printer, the system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• a memory communicatively coupled to the one or more processors, wherein the memory stores processor-executable instructions, which, on execution, causes the one or more processors to:
• receive job settings for scanning a first set of documents placed in the multi-function printer, associated with a first job;
• suspend the first job for one or more documents after scanning of the first set of documents and in response to detecting unavailability of a second set of documents associated with the first set of documents for scanning;
• receive an activation, by a user, of an operation of skipping scanning in response to suspending the first job;
• store scanned raw data of the first set of documents associated with the first job and associated job settings with a unique identification in a database of the multi-function printer in response to activating the operation of skipping scanning;
• determine selection of a first job that skipped scanning from one or more jobs that skipped scanning displayed on a display interface of the multi-function printer using the unique identification for resuming scanning of the second set of documents, associated with the first job;
• and
• perform scanning of the second set of documents based on the stored job settings associated with the first set of documents for completing the first job.

A non-transitory computer readable medium including instructions stored thereon that when processed by at least one processor causes a system comprising a processor and a memory to:

• receive job settings for scanning a first set of documents placed in the multi-function printer, associated with a first job;
• suspend the first job for one or more documents after scanning of the first set of documents and in response to detecting unavailability of a second set of documents associated with the first set of documents for scanning;
• receive an activation, by a user, in response to suspending the first job, of an operation of skipping scanning;
• store scanned raw data of the first set of documents associated with the first job and associated job settings with a unique identification in a database of the multi-function printer in response to activating the operation of skipping scanning;
• determine selection of a first job skipped scanning from one or more jobs skipped scanning displayed on a display interface of the multi-function printer using the unique identification for resuming scanning of the second set of documents, associated with the first job;
• and
• perform scanning of the second set of documents based on the stored job settings associated with the first set of documents for completing the first job.
