Abstract
Aspects of the present invention disclose and describe embodiment containers for displaying, visualizing, and aroma sampling botanical materials—such as tea, cannabis, and the like including a container body, lid, and lens—which may have various shapes. In a preferred embodiment, lid is shaped to define a recessed area with scent openings permitting aroma sampling of a sample contained within. A removable plug is shaped to fit within the recessed area of the lid. The container body and lid, with removable plug fit within the lid, form an airtight chamber within. A botanical sample may be visualized through the lens.
Claims20
A display container for botanical samples, comprising:
- a) an enclosure including a container body and a lid detachably mounted to the container body to enclose an interior chamber for storing the botanical samples, the lid including a lens for viewing of the botanical samples, and the container body including:
- i. an open top covered by the lid, the open top defined by an opening through which the botanical samples are insertable into the interior chamber,
- ii. an interior base surface in the interior chamber opposite the opening and overtop of which the botanical samples are positionable in the interior chamber, the base surface defined by an area smaller than that of the opening, and
- iii. an interior sidewall surface extending in the interior chamber between an upper end circumscribing the opening and a lower end adjoining a periphery of the base surface, at least a lower portion of the interior sidewall surface sloping downwardly and horizontally inwardly to the base surface for directing loose botanical samples toward the base surface;
- b) one or more scent ports extending through the lid between the interior chamber and an outside environment;
- and
- c) a port blocking member attached to the lid, the port blocking member movable between a closed position in which the one or more scent ports are blocked by the port blocking member, and an open position in which the scent ports are unblocked for sampling an aroma of the botanical samples.
A display container for botanical samples, comprising:
- a) an enclosure including a lower portion and an upper portion detachably mounted to the lower portion to enclose an interior chamber for storing the botanical samples, the upper portion including:
- i) a top wall extending horizontally over the interior chamber and having an integrated lens for viewing of the botanical samples in the chamber;
- ii) a sidewall extending downwardly from an outer periphery of the top wall for engagement with the lower portion,
- iii) an interior surface directed toward the interior chamber,
- iv) an exterior surface opposite the interior surface and directed toward an outside environment, and
- v) a recess in and fixed relative to the exterior surface, the recess having a recess endwall surface spaced inwardly from the exterior surface toward the interior chamber and a recess sidewall surface extending between the recess endwall surface and the exterior surface of the top wall;
- b) one or more scent ports in the lid, each scent port extending between an inner end open to the interior surface of the upper portion for fluid communication with the interior chamber and an outer end open to the recess endwall surface for fluid communication with the outside environment;
- and
- c) a plug mounted in the recess and sealing the one or more scent ports, at least a portion of the plug removable from the recess to expose the one or more scent ports for sampling an aroma of the botanical sample.
A display container for botanical samples, comprising:
- a) a two-piece enclosure including a container body and a lid detachably mounted to the container body to enclose an interior chamber for storing a botanical sample, each of the container body and the lid formed of a generally transparent polymeric material and being of unitary construction,
- the container body including:
- i) a bottom wall overtop of which the botanical samples are positionable in the interior chamber, and
- ii) a body sidewall extending upwardly from an outer periphery of the bottom wall to an upper peripheral edge of the container body, the upper peripheral edge circumscribing a top opening of the container body through which the botanical samples are insertable into the interior chamber, the top opening covered by the lid, and
- the lid including:
- i) a top wall extending horizontally over the top opening and upper peripheral edge of the container body, and
- ii) a lid sidewall extending downwardly from an outer periphery of the top wall concentrically along an exterior of the body sidewall to a lower peripheral edge of the lid, the lower peripheral edge of the lid horizontally outboard of and at an elevation below the upper peripheral edge of the container body;
- and
- b) a plurality of scent apertures in the enclosure, the scent apertures selectively blockable to seal the interior chamber and unblockable to provide one or more air passages between the interior chamber and an outside environment for sampling an aroma of the botanical samples in the interior chamber.
