Abstract
A system may use a single fiber combining module (SFCM) that combines multiple wavelength channels of different optical technologies over a single fiber. In an example, a SFCM may include a original band (O-band) port, wherein the O-band passes signals at a first wavelength range; a XGS PON port, wherein the XGS-PON port passes signals at a second wavelength range; a dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) port, wherein the DWDM port passes signals at a third wavelength range, wherein the first frequency range, the second frequency range, and the third wavelength range are different; and a common port connected with a fiber, the common port simultaneously combining signals from the O-band port, XGS-PON port, and the DWDM port.

An apparatus, comprising:
- a first port, wherein the first port is for passing first signals at a first wavelength range, wherein the first port is coupled to a first communication link by a multiplexer;
- a second port, wherein the second port is for passing second signals at a second wavelength range, wherein the second port is connected with a splitter that splits one or more Passive Optical Network (PON) technology;
- a third port, wherein the third port passes third signals at a third wavelength range, wherein at least one of the first wavelength range, the second wavelength range, and the third wavelength range are different;
- and
- a common port connected with a fiber, the common port obtaining or transmitting combined signals from the first port, the second port, and the third port.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a first port, wherein the first port is for passing first signals at a first wavelength range, wherein the first port is coupled to multiplexer;
- a second port, wherein the second port is for passing second signals at a second wavelength range, wherein the second port is connected with a splitter that splits one or more Passive Optical Network (PON) technologies;
- a third port, wherein the third port is for passing third signals at a third wavelength range;
- and
- a common port connected with a fiber, the common port obtaining or transmitting combined signals from the first port, the second port, and the third port.
A method, comprising:
- passing, at a first port, first signals at a first wavelength range, wherein the first port is coupled to a first communication link;
- passing, at a second port, second signals at a second wavelength range, wherein the second port is connected with a splitter that splits one or more via Passive Optical Network (PON) technologies;
- passing, at a third port, third signals at a third wavelength range, wherein at least one of the first wavelength range, the second wavelength range, and the third wavelength range are different;
- and
- a common port obtaining or transmitting combined signals from the first port, the second port, and the third port.
