## Abstract

A golf putting swing training aid that may be attached to any golf club that may force a golfer's hands into the proper grip position for various types of golf putting shots is provided. The device and methods of the present disclosure may further allow a golfer to practice these shots to build muscle memory and to ingrain the proper grip and form positions into memory to allow for repeated and consistent shot performance.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A golf putting swing training aid apparatus for developing putting skills with a putting golf club comprising:
a base center block that is a single item that is comprised of six sides with a top, a bottom, a left, a right, a front, and a back that has three openings comprising of an angled through hole that begins on the bottom, left lateral sidewall of the block and continues diagonally through to the right lateral sidewall and a straight through hole that begins on the top, right lateral sidewall of the block and continues horizontally through to the left lateral sidewall and a blind hole that begins on the bottom of the block and ends before the angled through hole;
the base center block that when assembled a plurality rectangular cover encloses the base center block creating an interior hollow region around the blind hole and the through holes; a curved I-beam fin structure of a arm support that extends the length of the arm support at a location separate to a cap fin structure;
an arm support cap comprising of two cap fin structures that are located at a central, top portion on the contact surface where the arm support makes contact with the user where the arm support that is attached to the base center block;
a width of apparatus from arm support to arm support that when held naturally has a first width and then during the golf swing a compressive force results in a second smaller width between arm supports, the compression is able to occur due to springs;
a threaded metal rod that functions as a secure connector and aligner to the golf club.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The golf putting swing training aid of claim 1, wherein the base center block structure that features a 7.5 to 27.5 degree angled through hole is located on the bottom of the structure and in relation to the left, bottom side of the base center block and the straight through hole is on the top, in doing this it is ensured that a center of gravity is as low as possible towards the golf putting club itself in order to prevent a user from getting accustomed to a wrong balance while training and then playing a real game without the golf putting swing training aid to then miscalculate their shot.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The golf putting swing training aid of claim 2, wherein angle of the angled through hole is 17 degrees.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The golf putting swing training aid of claim 2, further comprising that the orientation of the through holes eliminates a torque about the z-axis thus further preventing the user from getting accustomed to a wrong balance while training and then playing a real game without the aid to then miscalculate their shot.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The golf putting swing training aid of claim 1, wherein the base center block structure in which the base center block is hollow but appears solid; it is made hollow to save on one or more of weight, material, aesthetics and structure due to a shrinkage mark, strength, and most importantly to ensure that the center of gravity is as low as possible towards the golf putting club itself in order to prevent the user from getting accustomed to a wrong balance while training and then playing a real game without the aid to then miscalculate their shot.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The golf putting swing training aid of claim 1, wherein the curved I-beam fin structure on the arm support serves as a structural component to increase strength and rigidity so that the arm support can withstand any range of forces.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The golf putting swing training aid of claim 1, wherein an arm support cap that has two cap fin structures allows for easier alignment into the arm support during assembly and then during use prevents the assembly of a top guide roller from coming undone due to its increased surface area which increases friction forces thus keeping both components in place.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The golf putting swing training aid of claim 1, wherein the width of the apparatus from arm support to arm support is measured from 2.5 inches to 6 inches; the width can very due to the compressible nature and this measurement creates a “V” form in the user's arms.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The golf putting swing training aid of claim 1, wherein the threaded metal rod that serves as a secure connector and aligner to the golf club ranges from 2 inches to 15 inches.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The golf putting swing training aid of claim 9, wherein the threaded metal rod is 8 inches.

### Claim 11

A process of manufacturing and assembly of a golf putting swing training aid comprising:
ultrasonic welding a plurality rectangular cover to the base center block;
overmolding a self-tapping threaded insert to the base center block;
using a draft angle applied to the base center block about a centerline.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The process of manufacturing and assembly of claim 11, wherein ultrasonic welding of two rectangular covers onto a skeleton base center block to ensure that the base center block can retain a rigidity that it needs but yet does not alter a center of gravity of a device.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The process of manufacturing and assembly of claim 11, wherein overmolding is done to ensure a tight and secure fit between the self-tapping threaded insert, the base center block, and the threaded metal rod.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The process of manufacturing and assembly of claim 11, wherein a draft angle ranging from 0.5 degrees to 5 degrees is added to ensure a smooth separation of molded base center block from the injection mold.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

The process of manufacturing and assembly of claim 11, wherein a draft angle about the outside of the base center block is 1 degree about the parting line and a draft angle about the inside of the base center block about the parting line is 1.5 degrees.
