Abstract
Novel maize varieties that produce kernels with high levels of carotene and an aerial root mucilage, including the maize variety designated GenetecOne, and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant comprising crossing maize variety GenetecOne with another maize plant are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into GenetecOne through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are provided.

A maize variety which produces kernels with at least about 100 ppm of carotenes and/or aerial roots that secrete mucilage.

A seed of maize variety GenetecOne, wherein representative seeds of maize variety GenetecOne have been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-______.
A plant of maize variety GenetecOne further comprising a locus conversion, wherein representative seeds of maize variety GenetecOne have been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-______ and wherein the plant otherwise comprises all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of maize variety GenetecOne when grown under the same environmental conditions.
