Abstract
The gases temperature supplied to a patient when the patient is undergoing treatment such as oxygen therapy or positive pressure treatment for conditions such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is often measured for safety and to enable controlling of the humidity delivered to the patient. The invention disclosed is related to measurement of properties, particularly temperature (thermistor), of gases flowing through a heated tube, supplying gases to a patient, which utilises the heating wire within the tube.

(canceled)
A delivery conduit for supplying a flow of gases from a gases supply to a patient, the delivery conduit comprising:
- a heating element;
- a circuit board;
- and
- a temperature sensor positioned on the circuit board and electrically connected in series with the heating element;
- wherein at least a part of the circuit board is positioned in the flow of gases in the delivery conduit at or near an end of the delivery conduit nearest the patient, the temperature sensor providing measurements of a temperature of gas in the flow of gases when in use.
A delivery conduit for supplying a flow of gases from a gases supply to a patient, comprising:
- a heater wire;
- and
- a temperature sensor connected in series with the heater wire, the temperature sensor positioned at or near an end of the delivery conduit nearest the patient.
A delivery conduit for supplying a flow of gases from a gases supply to a patient, the delivery conduit comprising:
- a part of an electrical circuit, the part of the electrical circuit comprising:
- a heater wire to heat the flow of gases flowing through the delivery conduit;
- and
- a sensor connected with the heater wire, the sensor positioned at or near an end of the delivery conduit nearest the patient.
