Abstract
Textile backsheets including a nonwoven fabric and film, such as a vapor-permeable and liquid impermeable (VPLI) film or a non-permeable film, are provided, wherein the nonwoven fabric is directly or indirectly bonded to the film. Methods of making such textile backsheets and absorbent articles including the textile backsheets are also provided.
Claims20
A textile backsheet (TBS), comprising:
- (i) a nonwoven fabric;
- and
- (ii) a film, such as a vapor-permeable and liquid impermeable (VPLI) film or a non-permeable film, wherein the nonwoven fabric is directly or indirectly bonded to the film;
- wherein the TBS has (a) a basis weight from about 10 grams-per-square-meter (gsm) to about 20 gsm, and (b) an abrasion resistance grade (“Grade”) of at least about 3.0 as determined by SS-EN ISO 12945-2.

A method of forming a textile backsheet (TBS), comprising:
- (i) providing or forming a nonwoven fabric;
- (ii) providing for forming a film, wherein the film comprises a vapor-permeable and liquid impermeable (VPLI) film or a non-permeable film;
- and
- (iii) directly or indirectly bonding the nonwoven fabric to the film to form the TBS;
- wherein the TBS has (a) a basis weight from about 10 grams-per-square-meter (gsm) to about 20 gsm, and (b) an abrasion resistance grade (“Grade”) of at least about 3.0 as determined by SS-EN ISO 12945-2.
