Abstract
A self-sealing hose includes an inner rubber layer comprising a first rubber material; and an outer rubber layer comprising a second rubber material. The second rubber material has an ultimate strain of at least 100% and an elastic limit of at least about 7 MPa. The first rubber material has a modulus measured at 250% elongation of less than about 10 kPa.
Claims20
A self-sealing hose comprising:
- an inner rubber layer comprising a first rubber material;
- and
- an outer rubber layer comprising a second rubber material;
- wherein the second rubber material has an ultimate strain of at least 100% and an elastic limit of at least about 7 MPa;
- and
- wherein the first rubber material has a modulus measured at 250% elongation of less than about 10 kPa.
3 more elements
A process for producing a self-sealing hose, the process comprising:
- applying an outer rubber layer comprising a second rubber material to an inner rubber layer comprising a first rubber material;
- wherein the second rubber material has an ultimate strain of at least 100% and an elastic limit of at least about 7 MPa;
- and
- wherein the first rubber material has a modulus measured at 250% elongation of less than about 10 kPa.
1 more element
A self-sealing hose comprising:
- an inner rubber layer having an inner modulus and an inner elongation greater than about 500%;
- and
- an outer rubber layer having an outer modulus greater than about 300 psi and greater than the inner modulus, and having an outer elongation between about 100% about 300%.
