Abstract
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to negative pressure treatment systems and wound dressing systems, apparatuses, and methods that may be used for the treatment of wounds. In particular, some embodiments are directed to improved wound dressings comprising an obscuring layer that may hide fluid contained therein. Some embodiments may further comprise one or more viewing windows disposed therethrough so as to enable monitoring or examination of fluids contained therein.

A negative pressure wound therapy kit comprising:
- a wound dressing;
- and
- a sheet comprising:
- a film having a length between first and second opposing edges of the film and a width between third and fourth opposing edges of the film, the film comprising an adhesive surface and a non-adhesive surface;
- a plurality of fixation strips formed in the film, wherein each fixation strip of the plurality of fixation strips has a length equal to the length of the flexible film;
- a carrier layer provided on the non-adhesive surface of the film;
- a central protective layer provided on the adhesive surface of the film;
- a first outer protective layer and a second outer protective layer provided on the adhesive surface of the film, the first outer protective layer provided at or near the first opposing edge and the second outer protective layer provided at or near the second opposing edge, each of the first and second outer protective layers comprising a folded handle extending along the width of film;
- and
- a plurality of perforation lines each extending the length of the film and configured to facilitate separation of the fixation strips from the sheet.
The negative pressure wound therapy kit of claim 62, wherein the wound contact layer comprises a silicone adhesive on a lower surface thereof.
A negative pressure wound therapy kit comprising:
- a wound dressing;
- and
- a sheet having a length between first and second opposing edges of the sheet and a width between third and fourth opposing edges of the sheet, the sheet comprising a plurality of fixation strips connected to one another, wherein each fixation strip comprises:
- a film comprising an adhesive surface and a non-adhesive surface;
- a central protective layer provided on the adhesive surface of the film;
- a first outer protective layer provided on the adhesive surface of the film at or near the first opposing edge and a second outer protective layer provided on the adhesive surface of the film at or near the second opposing edge, each of the first and second outer protective layers comprising a folded handle extending along a width of the fixation strip;
- and
- wherein adjacent fixation strips are separated from one another by a perforation line, and wherein each perforation line comprises a repeating perforation gap, each gap separated by a connected or intact portion that connects the adjacent fixation strips.
A method of sealing a wound dressing to a wound comprising:
- separating a fixation strip from a sheet comprising a plurality of fixation strips, the fixation strip comprising a film having an adhesive surface and a non-adhesive surface, wherein the fixation strip is separated from the sheet along a perforation line that extends through the sheet and along a length of the sheet;
- removing a central protective layer from the adhesive surface of the fixation strip to reveal a central portion of the adhesive surface;
- applying the central portion of the adhesive surface to at least a portion of a wound dressing applied to the wound and to overlap skin adjacent the wound dressing;
- removing a first outer protective layer and a second outer protective layer from remaining portions of the adhesive surface of the fixation strip using folded handles that extend a width of the fixation strip;
- and
- applying the remaining portions of the adhesive surface to desired locations.
