Abstract
A tank for transporting a liquid is disclosed. In some implementations, the tank includes a carrier having a plurality of compartments, each compartment of the plurality of compartments having an opening for containing one or more baffles. In some implementations, the tank includes a plurality of posts that are securable relative to the tank and configured to support the one or more baffles. In some implementations, the posts are removed from the tank to facilitate installation of the baffles. In some implementations, the posts are rotatable to facilitate installation of the baffles. In some implementations, the tank is a two-piece tank which facilitates access to the one or more baffles.
Claims20
A method of installing a baffle system in a tank, the method comprising:
- inserting a baffle comprising an outer wall with a plurality of apertures therethrough within an interior of the tank;
- inserting a post through the outer wall of the baffle to inhibit at least lateral motion of the baffle relative to the tank;
- and
- securing an end of the post to an internal surface of the tank.
A method of installing a baffle in a tank, the tank comprising a post configured to be coupled to an interior of the tank via a mechanical hinge, the method comprising:
- inserting the baffle onto the post when the post is in a tilted configuration so that the post passes through a wall of the baffle;
- moving the post and the inserted baffle together from the tilted configuration to a secured configuration via the mechanical hinge;
- and
- mechanically securing the post relative to the tank when the post and the baffle are in the secured configuration so as to inhibit at least lateral motion of the baffle relative to the tank.
A method of installing a plastic drum in a water tank, the water tank comprising a post having a first end coupled to an interior of the water tank, the method comprising:
- providing a plastic drum having a bottom wall and a hole in the bottom wall;
- inserting the plastic drum onto the post when the post is in a tilted configuration so that the post passes through the hole;
- pivoting the post and the plastic drum from the tilted configuration to a secured configuration;
- and
- mechanically securing a second end of the post relative to the tank when the post and the plastic drum are in the secured configuration so as to inhibit at least lateral motion of the plastic drum relative to the tank.
