Abstract
An apparatus includes an ion chamber and a valve assembly. The ion chamber may include a housing enclosing a gas and one or more electrodes. The valve assembly is coupled to the ion chamber allowing control of replacement of the gas within the housing.

An apparatus, comprising:
- an ion chamber comprising a housing enclosing a gas and one or more electrodes, and
- a valve assembly coupled to the ion chamber allowing to control replacement of the gas within the housing.
A method of refurbishing an ion chamber comprising a housing enclosing a gas and one or more electrodes, comprising:
- removing contamination from the gas enclosed in the housing, and
- refiling the housing with a gas from a gas source.
