Abstract
A method includes subjecting an ophthalmic device mold-forming material to drying conditions in a first inert gas environment for a time period sufficient to substantially dry the ophthalmic device mold-forming material; molding a first ophthalmic device mold part and a second ophthalmic device mold part from the dried ophthalmic device mold-forming material; and subjecting the first ophthalmic device mold part and the second ophthalmic device mold part to a second inert gas environment for a time period sufficient to substantially remove all oxygen in the first ophthalmic device mold part and the second ophthalmic device mold part.
Claims24
A method, comprising:
- (a) subjecting an ophthalmic device mold-forming material to drying conditions in a first inert gas environment for a time period sufficient to substantially dry the ophthalmic device mold-forming material;
- (b) molding a first ophthalmic device mold part and a second ophthalmic device mold part from the dried ophthalmic device mold-forming material;
- and
- (c) subjecting the first ophthalmic device mold part and the second ophthalmic device mold part to a second inert gas environment for a time period sufficient to substantially remove all oxygen in the first ophthalmic device mold part and the second ophthalmic device mold part.
A system, comprising:
- at least one processing device comprising a processor coupled to a memory;
- the at least one processing device being configured to implement the steps of:
- (a) subjecting an ophthalmic device mold-forming material to drying conditions in a first inert gas environment for a time period sufficient to substantially dry the ophthalmic device mold-forming material;
- (b) molding a first ophthalmic device mold part and a second ophthalmic device mold part from the dried ophthalmic device mold-forming material;
- and
- (c) subjecting the first ophthalmic device mold part and the second ophthalmic device mold part to a second inert gas environment for a time period sufficient to substantially remove all oxygen in the first ophthalmic device mold part and the second ophthalmic device mold part.
An article of manufacture comprising a processor-readable storage medium having encoded therein executable code of one or more software programs, wherein the one or more software programs when executed by one or more processing devices implement the steps of:
- (a) subjecting an ophthalmic device mold-forming material to drying conditions in a first inert gas environment for a time period sufficient to substantially dry the ophthalmic device mold-forming material;
- (b) molding a first ophthalmic device mold part and a second ophthalmic device mold part from the dried ophthalmic device mold-forming material;
- and (c) subjecting the first ophthalmic device mold part and the second ophthalmic device mold part to a second inert gas environment for a time period sufficient to substantially remove all oxygen in the first ophthalmic device mold part and the second ophthalmic device mold part.
