Abstract
A method and composition for doped HTS tapes having directional flux pinning and critical current.
Claims15
A superconducting tape comprising:
- a plurality of nanocolumns oriented perpendicular to a surface of the superconducting tape, the superconducting tape having a first critical current at 0 T at 77 K;
- wherein the superconducting tape is configured to have a magnetic field applied thereto, wherein the magnetic field is applied parallel to the surface of the superconducting tape at about 0.1 Tat 77 K;
- and
- wherein the superconducting tape is configured to retain, upon application of the magnetic field, a second critical current that is at least about 90% of the first critical current.

- wherein the superconducting tape is configured to have a magnetic field applied thereto, wherein the magnetic field is applied parallel to the surface of the superconducting tape at about 0.5 Tat 77 K;
- and
- wherein the superconducting tape is configured to retain, upon application of the magnetic field, a second critical current that is at least about 50% of the first critical current.
