Automotive window regulator slide block repair kit and method of using the same

A method for replacing a damaged slide block on the window regulators installed on the w901, 902 and 903 series Mercedes Benz Sprinter and Dodge Sprinter vans, built between 1995 and 2006, Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans built between 1995-2002, Dodge Sprinter vans 2500, 3500 built between 2002 and 2006, Freightliner Sprinter vans 2500, 3500 built between 2002 and 2006 located inside the door frame structure, without removing the window regulator assembly from the door of the vehicle further comprising the steps of:

• removing the interior decorative door panel;
• locating access opening within the door frame for the window regulator arm (s) slide block connection swivel point;
• aligning the window regulators arm slide block connection swivel point against the access opening by operating window regulator by means of power switch or manually;
• taking measures to secure the window glass in the desired position to prevent vertical movement of the same by means of applying adhesive tape to window glass and the outer frame;
• locating and grinding off the riveted head of an existing slide block mounting pin using a suitable tool with grinding attachment;
• removing remaining portion of the mounting pin and the old slide block if still present from the window regulator arm;
• exposing a mounting hole for a replacement bolt;
• assembling a replacement slide block by inserting mounting bolt provided in the kit into a flat side of the slide block;
• installing a slide block into a slide guide rail at the bottom of the window;
• aligning the bolt of the slide block against the exposed mounting hole of the window regulator arm;
• inserting the bolt through the mounting hole of the window regulator arm;
• placing the lock nut onto the non-threaded portion of the mounting bolt;
• attaching the suitable tool onto the exposed non-threaded portion of the mounting bolt just above the lock nut;
• tightening the locking nut by means of using suitable tool to hold exposed threaded end portion of the mounting bolt, and the open end wrench to drive the locking nut;
• removing adhesive tape used to secure the window glass in the desired position to allow vertical movement by means of peeling off the adhesive tape from the glass and the outer frame;
• conforming functionality by operating window regulator manually or by power switch as equipped;
• installing the door decorative panel in its place, thereby completing the replacement procedure.
