Abstract
Techniques are provided for diminishing adjacent channel interference between radios using shared frequency spectrum. A guard band may be inserted between a pair of adjacent frequency spectrums so that they are no longer adjacent.
Claims21
A program product comprising a non-transitory processor readable medium on which program instructions are embodied, wherein the program instructions are configured, when executed by at least one programmable processor, to cause the at least one programmable processor to:
- determine whether there is at least one pair of adjacent frequency spectrums, wherein each pair of the adjacent frequency spectrums comprises two frequency spectrums which are adjacent and each of which is allocated to a unique color assigned to one node of a pair of nodes of a network graph, wherein a pair of adjacent frequency spectrums do not overlap and wherein one end of one frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrum is within a predefined threshold frequency of another end of another frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrums, wherein an edge is formed between each node of the pair of nodes, wherein each general authorized access (GAA) radio comprising one node of the pair of nodes is time domain duplexing (TDD) unsynchronized with each GAA radio comprising another node of the pair of nodes, and wherein the edge is a criterion of interference at a GAA radio or at a node exceeds a first interference threshold level;
- and
- determine that there is at least one pair of adjacent frequency spectrums, then insert a first guard band between each frequency spectrum of each pair of adjacent frequency spectrums so that one end of one frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrum is no longer within the predefined threshold frequency of another end of another frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrums;
- wherein the pair of adjacent frequency is within a shared frequency spectra.

A method, comprising:
- determining whether there is at least one pair of adjacent frequency spectrums, wherein each pair of the adjacent frequency spectrums comprises two frequency spectrums which are adjacent and each of which is allocated to a unique color assigned to one node of a pair of nodes of a network graph, wherein a pair of adjacent frequency spectrums do not overlap and wherein one end of one frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrum is within a predefined threshold frequency of another end of another frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrums, wherein an edge is formed between each node of the pair of nodes, wherein each general authorized access (GAA) radio comprising one node of the pair of nodes is time domain duplexing (TDD) unsynchronized with each GAA radio comprising another node of the pair of nodes, and wherein the edge is a criterion of interference at a GAA radio or at a node exceeds a first interference threshold level;
- and
- determining that there is at least one pair of adjacent frequency spectrums, then insert a first guard band between each frequency spectrum of each pair of adjacent frequency spectrums so that one end of one frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrum is no longer within the predefined threshold frequency of another end of another frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrums;
- wherein the pair of adjacent frequency is within a shared frequency spectra.

An apparatus comprising:
- processing circuitry configured to:
- determine whether there is at least one pair of adjacent frequency spectrums, wherein each pair of the adjacent frequency spectrums comprises two frequency spectrums which are adjacent and each of which is allocated to a unique color assigned to one node of a pair of nodes of a network graph, wherein a pair of adjacent frequency spectrums do not overlap and wherein one end of one frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrum is within a predefined threshold frequency of another end of another frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrums, wherein an edge is formed between each node of the pair of nodes, wherein each general authorized access (GAA) radio comprising one node of the pair of nodes is time domain duplexing (TDD) unsynchronized with each GAA radio comprising another node of the pair of nodes, and wherein the edge is a criterion of interference at a GAA radio or at a node exceeds a first interference threshold level;
- and
- determine that there is at least one pair of adjacent frequency spectrums, then insert a first guard band between each frequency spectrum of each pair of adjacent frequency spectrums so that one end of one frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrum is no longer within the predefined threshold frequency of another end of another frequency spectrum of the pair of adjacent frequency spectrums;
- wherein the pair of adjacent frequency is within a shared frequency spectra.
