Abstract
A system and method for purging an isolation valve using a liquid purge medium.
Claims6
An isolation valve liquid purge system comprising:
- a liquid purge medium:
- an isolation valve configured to control the flow of process having a process pressure, comprising:
- a gate;
- a valve body or bonnet configured to receive the gate;
- a seat configured to seal against the gate;
- an actuator configured to actuate the gate;
- and
- wherein the liquid purge medium pressurizes the valve body or bonnet to a pressure higher than a process pressure.

A method for reducing cavitation in a line comprising:
- purging an isolation valve controlling the line with process fluid flowing therethrough with a liquid purge medium.
