A food freezing method that quickly freezes an α-starch-containing frozen food, the method comprising:

• quickly freezing a frozen food by storing an ice slurry in a freezing tank in a state of being maintained at equal to or less than −10° C., holding the frozen food in an ice slurry in the freezing tank by a hanger, and causing an ice slurry to flow such that an ice slurry collides with the frozen food at equal to or greater than a predetermined relative speed,
• wherein the frozen food is a cooked rice food such as nigiri sushi or noodles such as udon noodle.

A frozen food where a frozen food containing gelatinized starch is quickly frozen, wherein

• gelatinized starch accounts for equal to or greater than 80% of a total starch and
• the frozen food is a cooked rice food or noodles.

• the cooked rice food is nigiri sushi on which seafood is placed on vinegared rice, and a K value of the seafood is equal to or less than 20.
